The restaurant seats 42 people and is beautifully decorated with Moroccan themed artwork throughout the business.
The name Tangia comes from a clay cooking pot traditionally used in Morocco to prepare slow cooked meat dishes (stews). The same word is also used for the stew which is cooked in this pot.
The owner, Losine Khezour has incorporated a Moroccan theme throughout the restaurant to bring the real flavour of Morocco to South London.
Losine’s passion for cookery began in his home country of Morocco. He moved to France and then cruised the seas on board an Italian cruise ship. He worked as a chef at Royal Overseas League just a short stone’s throw from Buckingham Palace for the last 22 years, where he had the pleasure of cooking for members of the Royal family, national and overseas statesmen and celebrity chefs. Losine lives in Tooting and he always wanted a local restaurant.
Please come and visit taNgia to experience the excellent food, drink and hospitality in a trendy and cosy environment. We are located at 108 Mitcham Road, Tooting, SW17 9NG which is opposite Morleys department store.
